What's Been Happening at Pride?

Well quite a lot actually, including a course on cooking on a budget and healthy eating, a basic food hygiene course, designing greetings cards with a gay flavour, reviewing DVD's such as Kissing Jessica Stein and buying lots of fabulous books from Gays The Word bookshop to stock up our resource library.

Our members were also presented with Swindon Awards to accredit their learning and achievement, for their part in the Swindon Festival. The awards were presented by the Worshipful Mayor of Swindon, in his chambers in the Civic Offices in Euclid Street. The event was followed by a celebratory party and great fun was had by all.

Our friend from No Added Sugar, Toni, who helped us with the costumes for the festival had this to say about the group:

"what a wonderful project, we really enjoyed working with your young people, they are all so motivated. We would never have taken on so much with another group, but with their diverse talents and enthusiasm their costumes turned out better than we could have hoped for, in such a short period of time...
They were also very proud of
their costumes and enjoyed the experience. I guess you will all miss them when they all leave to go to college and University, but be happy you have played a part in getting them their with such confidence.
It really was a pleasure to spend a few weeks with you all."

Toni...we are very proud of all our young members and the distance they travel, emotionally, in such a short space of time. Well done all.
